About

The Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish is located at 34 – 38 Franklin Street Easthampton, MA. Our facilities include the Church, the Parish Center Offices, the Rectory, the former school building. The Church and the Parish Center Offices are handicap accessible. On our grounds behind the Rectory, we have a large Pavilion with a bandstand. On either side of the Pavilion, we have two kitchens. The “American Kitchen” is located on the left side of the Pavilion. It is a seasonal kitchen. On the right side of the Pavilion is the pride of the Parish, our year round “Polish Kitchen.” Throughout the year we use our Polish Kitchen for the many events which we have. Our Church grounds have been extensively improved over the years. Visitors are amazed at the beauty of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish property.

We always welcome visitors to worship with us and attend our Festivals, Dinners, and Breakfasts.

On Sunday, November 29, at 11:00 am in the Church, we celebrated a Solemn Mass of Thanksgiving in honor of the 100th Anniversary of the founding of our Parish. An Anniversary Dinner was held immediately after the Mass at the Log Cabin, Holyoke, MA. The Eddie Forman Orchestra  provided us with music for enjoyment and dancing. During the Dinner, a CD  continually played depicting the people who have shaped our proud history. Our wide variety of events was also  seen. Almost 300 persons attended the 100th Anniversary  Dinner.  Everyone had a great time … especially the children!!

The Parish has several organizations. “The Holy Rosary Sodality” is our largest spiritual group. We have two choirs: “The Saint Cecilia Choir” and our youth choir, “The Laudamus Singers and Ringers.” Parishioners are involved in our “Altar Guild.” Members help to decorate the Church for the liturgical year. Our elderly, sick, nursing home residents and homebound parishioners are visited frequently by member of the “Shut In Committee” and the Eucharistic Ministers.

During the course of the year, we have the following social events:

The Oplatek “Christmas” Dinner,  ”Mardi Gras – Zapusty”  Dinner,  Baked Scrod Dinners &  Pancake Breakfasts & Lenten Meals &

our annual Saint Patrick – Saint Joseph Dinner.

Family Meals after the 11 am Sunday Mass featuring Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, Cheeseburgers and, of course, French Fries … all at a reasonable price for the parents!

The Annual Parish Festival is on the first Sunday of August.  We begin with a “Polka Mass” at 11:00 am in the Church.  Then the  Festival starts at 12 Noon.  It ends at 6:00 pm.  People attend from all over New England, New York, New Jersey, the Carolina’s, Florida, and even from Texas and California.

Pasta Suppers during the year.  Pierogi are homemade in our Polish Kitchen.  They are always available for sale before the holidays and during the year.  You should try some.   We believe that they are excellent!   And so do the hundreds of people who purchase them!
